The demócrata assembled in county convention at 11 o'clock to-day at the court house. Senator J. S. Gorman was called to the chair temporarily, and T. F. Moran, of Manchester, made secretary. Upon4aking the chalr Mr. Gorman made a few remarks arraigning Gov. Luce for liis work during the two years he has been governor, especlally with reference to the university. After the usual appointment of committees an adjournment was effected until % o'clock. Upon reassembliug the committees reported, the temporary offloers were made permanent, and the following resolutlons were adopteü: The Democracy of Washtenaw county In convention asserabled, do Retolve, Tbat wecordlally and heartily endorse the democratie nutional and Btate platforms, aod the bonest, and buslness-llke admlulstratlon of our courageous and patrlotic president, Grover Cleveland. Willard Bahbit was made the nominee unaniinously. While the ballots were being counted for sheriff, Fred A. Howlett was renoininateil tor Clerk unanimously. A telegram from Willard Stearns to Capt.
