I., was appointed Director of the School of Music. at a meeting of theexecutive committee ot the Bourd of liegents leid Monday evening. Mr. Stanley has een a prominent teacher of music for lie past thirtnen yearsin Providence, and orzanist of Grace Church, the prominent Episcopal church of that city. He has ield the office of president of the Music Teacher' National Association, and nand8 at the heaii of his profesalon. Zuring the four yeari he pursued liis studies In Leipsic, he was in company witli Prof. C. B. Cady, late director of the Bcliool. He will come on at once and jegin work. This will be good news to nusical people, many of wliom are greatly interested iu the department. Mr. itanley has also been appointod director of the school of music.
