Sinclair's Hair No Longer There

John Sinclair of 1510 Hill, manager of Ann
Arbor's AlC-^ rock group and White Panther
leader, had his hair cut yesterday for the first
time.

The shearing of his curly locks took place in
the Oakland County Jail where he spent six hours
before being released on a $2,500 appeal bond.

Sinclair, 27, was sentenced to 30 days in jail
Tuesday for assaulting a police officer during an
incident at a night club last July 23 in Leonard, a
small town in northern Oakland County.

He had his last hair cut more than threc
years ago while serving time in the Detroit House
of Correction on a marijuana conviction.

Although his bushy mustach remained un-
touched, Sinclair is reported as describing the
hair cut as ". . . like cutting someone's arm off."

He also is reported as saying that he was
dragged into a room and held with his arms
behind his back while a jail inmate performed
the barbering act.

According to the Oakland County Seriff's De-
partment Sinclair was treated the same as any
other prisoner.
