The Women's Strike for Peace - a national anti-war women's group headquartered in New York - has charged that the money spent on the Vietnam war each day is enough to build 30 new hospitals. The Women's Strike said official Dafense Department figures show that the United States is spending $100 million dollars a day - or more than $1, 000 per second- to fight the war. The group announced that this is enough money to build 30 fully-equipped hospitals containing 125 beds each. The women added that the entire military expenditure by the United States since World War H had exceeded $1 trillion. This amount, the group said, was enough money to build a $20, 000 home for every f amily living in the United States.
