VOICE OF THE PEOPLE

HOW DID YOU REACT TO THE LATEST APOLLO MOON LANDING?

BOB DRUMMOND: gas station attendant. It's like the rerun of an old movie, I've seen it before. It didn't prove anything this time, like it proved the time Apollo 11 landed. It's all sorts dull really. I think we ought to stop sending up missions. All they've done so far is bring back a bunch of landscape and leave a lot of garbage up there. The money undoubtedly could go to better causes.

GLEN DEIBERT: medical student. The moon landing was of course a fantastic effort scientifically. However, I think the scientific exploration to the moon is much less important than scientific exploration In other areas like medicine and urbanology. Too much attention has been applied to the areas where there is a great deal of national spirit, I wonder if that type of national spirit is more important than the type of real accomplishment we could make in the cities.

MRS.WALTER HINDER: housewife. I admire how far science has gone, i.e. driving a land vehicle on the moon. But I do think that it is a terribly expensive program. The money should be used to help people. They should take care of their people first. It's an un-unifying thing. It's just another race for power.

LINDA PNG: student. I think the rockets we shoot off should come from firmer ground. I think It should be a united effort and not just the United States. I think they should solve the earth's problems before going out to look for more. Science is greatly misused these days and should be used for domestic purposes. We have our hands full already.
