Cuts C-3 Price Again:

Argus Observes Its
25th Camera Year

Argus Cameras Division to-
day observed its 25th year in
the camera business with a
day-long press conference.

J. J. Riggs, president of
Argus Cameras, Inc., market-
ing subsidiary of Sylvania
Electric Products, Inc., an-
nounced at the conference that
the price of the famed Argus
C-3 camera will be ("-' I
ly 25 per cent—from ;', i i i
$29.95. The cut will be effec-
tive June 1.
It is the second cut in the past
twp years and results from man-
ufacturing efficiences, Riggs
said. j

In May, 1959, Argus reduced
the price of the C-3 from $59.95
(o $39.95 in what Argus' presi-
dent, Clinton H. Harris, called
a "roll-up-our-sleeves" answers

years in the camera business.

Argus first got into the cam-
era business in 1936 with the
Argus "A" camera. Several
models of this line were pro-
duced before the firm started
production i " ' 'n the C-3
camera. Mon i n two mil-
lion C-3's have been sold since
that time.
For many years the firm was
the world's largest producer of
35mm cameras and still leads
the industry in the manufacture
of 35mm projectors.
