James M. Delaney of Chicago
will be general manager of Argus,
Inc., under the change in top
managemeni puts over-all

hands of a three-man executive
committee.

Delaney's appointment "on a
temporary basis" was disclosed late

ition of Robert D. Howse as

G. Stanley Porter, a Jackson
manufacturer who has served on
the Argus board of directors for
12 years, was elected to the newly
created position of board chairman.
j No reasons have been given for
rthe changes in top management,
and Howse has been unavailable
for comment.

The board announcement said

vacant at this time."

Porter was graduated from the
University in 1907 with a degree
in mechanical engineering. He was

Hayes Wheel Co. in Jackson and
has been an investment engineer

He is an -organizer and pa.si
president of Industrial Metal Abra-
sives Co. of Jackson, and currently
is secretary-treasurer of the Ti r n"
Steel Co. of Detroit.

in 1940, when he was only 31. At
that time and up until 1944, the
firm was known as International
Industries, Inc.

Howse will continue as a member
of the board of directors and a
trustee pf the company profit-
sharing plan.
