- The following isfrom the Protestant Hernld : "The Clinton (Miss.) Presbytery is in advance of the General Assembly. They have resolved to use the title of Bishop, in their records, and in their common conversation, and have recommended to all their churchcs tocall them Bishops. We were once a merabor of this Presbytery, and as its members are almost entirely changed, we may say, without any disrespect, that sonie of us would have feit rather queer, to have been called Bishops.- U would havo been like calling a email town, composed of a few log houses, Amsterdam, Paris, or London."
