Panel Of Judges On Flag Design Is Selected A six-member panel to judge A six-member panel to judge entries from school students in the city flag design contest was announced today by Sam- ul C. Gesko, jr., adminstrative assistant to the city ad- ministrator. Gesko said it is hoped that the panel can hold its first meeting by the end of the week on the 40 entries received. The contest was for students in grades 7 through 12. First prize in the contest is to be $20. There are to be $5 honorable mention awards. Gesko said the money is being contributed by the Ann Arbor Chamber of Commerce. Plans are to make awards at a City Council meeting. The judges are Ann Arbor School Supt. Jack Elzay; Thomas J. Larkin, University assist- ant professoh of art and education; William A. Lewis, U-M assistant professor of art. Others are Mrs. Richard Wilt, teacher of children's creative art classes in the public recre- tion program; Miss Alicia Dwyer, former City Council member who originated the idea the city should have a flag, and Franklin C. Forsythe, attorney, mem- ber of the Chamber board of directors and chairman of the Chamber's community publicity committee.
