In Maine, is the Liberty Standard, wmcii supports the nommation of Birney and Morris. In New Hampshire, is tho People's Advocate, which supports Birney and Morris. [t is a spirited paper. Ia Vermont, the Voice of Freedora advocates the Liberty party ticket. In Massachusetts, the Free American snp ports the Liberty nominntion, while the Liberator opposes it and advocates the old organization, non-resistance, and aome other doctrines, lts political courso we do not cxactly under6tand. In Connecticut is the Charter Oak, published monthly. New York has the Emancipator, the Friend of Man'at Utica,the Madison County Abolitionist, the American Citizen at Koelie ester, and the Anti-Slavery Reporter, at New York city- all devotcd to the inlerests of the Liberty party. The A . S . Standard, pubüshed in N. Y. City, oppoaes the Independent nomination8. Pennsylvania has the Spirit of Liberty, which supports the Liberty wominations, and the Freeman, pubüshed at Philadelphia, which hasjust adopted the same principie. Ohio has the Philanthropist al Cincinnati, j a Liberty paper in every sense of the word, and very efficiënt. Indiana has the Proteclionist, a Birney and Morris paper, and the Free Labor Adcate, which opposes the use of goods produced by slave labor. Illinois ha3 the Genius of Liberty, a decideá Liberty party publication. Michigan has the Signal of Liberty. Besides these, there are reügious publications which promúlgate strong anti slavery doctrines and are very efficiënt. The Mornir. g Star, a Freewill Baptist paper of NewHampshire is one of the best of this class. - The Ziou's Watchman takes anti-slavery ground among the Mcthodists. The New York Evangelist is also anti-slavery in sentiment, but is 80 much hindred with New Schoolism and olher adverse influences, thar it accomplishes bnt little n comparison with what it might. There are also one or two tkorough Baptist anti-slavery papers. Oui readers tvill perceive frorn this impera fect list, that the cause of liberty is not yet cast down. She can yet spoak, and thun j der the truth in the ear of the oppressor. It : will be seen that twelve op more of these papers are devoted to independent nominations and support Birney and Morris.
