In Vennont, the whole number of votea given was For Paine, 23,353. ForSrnilic, 21,302. For Titus Hutchinson, 3,039. Scattering, 248, The Legislature met Oct. 14, and on joint ballot, Charles Paine, the whig candidate was elected by a majority oí' all the votes. Titus Hutchinson received nine voles. So that política! action begins to show ilself in the Legislatures. LHst year Vermonj gave some 15,000 majurity fop Harrison. What a change in twelve: monihs! A change proponioneately, far less than this will give a majvrity to Birney in 1844. In Palterson, N. J. 38- last year, 1T. In WestJYIilford, N. J. 14 votes j .last year, none. In Philadelphia, 100 votes. Ohio - Lorain county. For Represen talive, 175 votes. The township of Russia gave for the different Liberty candidates, respectively, 100, 140, 124 and i4T votes.
