Dies At Age 71
Frederick W. Mayer, 71, of 318 N. Ashley St., a retired construction contractor employe, died Friday afternoon in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a two-day illness.
He was born May 22, 1887, in Lodi township, a son of John and Elizabeth Laubengayer Mayer. He lived on a farm in Lodi township until coming to Ann Arbor in 1938.
Mr. Mayer was a member of the Bethlehem Evangelical and Reformed Church.
He is survived by two sons, Neil E. and Warren F., both of Dexter; two grandchildren; a brother, Ernest of Lodi township; and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hirth and Mrs. Mary Lambarth, both of Saline.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. Ernest Klaudt officiating. Burial will be made in Bethlehem Cemetery.
