Kellar, Henry R., Sr.

Age 66, died suddenly at home Monday evening. He was born Jan. 10, 1902, in Detroit, the son of Frank and Amelia Spahn Kellar. On May 27, 1922, he married the former Grace Ollenbrook in Detroit. Mr. Kellar was a Manchester resident for 33 years and was employed as a baker for many years. He also was employed at the Double A Products Co. in Manchester until retiring in 1966. At the time of his death he was employed as a security guard for Sanford Security Agency. Mr. Kellar was a member of the Manchester Methodist Church and was a Coast Guard veteran. Survivors include his wife, Grace; a son, Ralph, of Detroit; four daughters, Mrs. Edward (Margaret) Hooton of Manchester, Mrs. Kenneth (Grace) Hooten of Tecumseh, Mrs. Sam (Shurly) Aiuto of Clinton and Mrs. Claude (Florence) Day of Manchester; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday from the Jenter Funeral Home with the Rev. O. William Cooper officiating. Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
