Six Chamber Of Commerce Committee Heads Named

Chairmen have been named to direct the activities of six Ann Arbor Chamber of Commerce committees which are concerned with community affairs

The six chairmen are Clarence W. Markham, municipal affairs committee; Thomas L. Dickinson, economic development committee; James H. Livingston, traffic committee; John Holland, water resources committee; Clifford H. Simmons, airport committee; and William E. Bandemer, municipal revenue committee.

The airport committee was newly established this year by Lawrence H. Ouimet, C of C board president, while two other committees set up last year were activated this week for the first time. They are the water resources and municipal revenue committees.

Simmons’ committee is to study the present and potential uses of the Ann Arbor Municipal Airport and present findings before the C of C for its deliberation.

The municipal revenue committee will familiarize itself with the current tax proposals for alleviating the state’s deficit and advise the board of the effects the proposals might have on the business community and municipal government.

Ann Arbor’s water supply and sewage disposal needs, utilizing the Huron River, are study topics for the water resources committee.
