Mrs. Thomas Leggette
Mrs. Jessie H. Leggette, 89, of 1420 Brooklyn Ave., an Ann Arbor resident for the past 15 years, died early this morning at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
She was born Sept. 8, 1871, at Pine Grove, Ontario, the daughter of Walter and Susan Fisher Jarrett.
She moved to the United States 50 years ago with her husband, the Rev. Thomas Leggette. They lived in Chicago for many years, where he was pastor of Forest Glen Congregational Church.
Mrs. Leggette was a member of the Ann Arbor Congregational Church and of the Ladies' Aid Society at the church.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Brinkman of Ann Arbor; two sons, R. E. Leggette of Albuquerque, N.M., and R. M. Leggette of New York, N. Y.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Ethel Jarrett and Mrs. Cameron Russel, both of Vancouver, B.C.; a brother, Fred Jarrett of Kanloops, B.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Staffan-Hildinger Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Douglas Memorial Chapel of the First Congregational Church, the Rev. Fred E. Luchs officiating.
Cremation will follow.
