ANN ARBOR’S CONTRIBUTION: This is the result of the campaign to collect scrap aluminum in Ann Arbor for national defense. Truckloads of worn-out pots and pans collected in a house-to-house canvass Thursday and Friday evenings were dumped into the crib on the courthouse lawn. Each day last week cars drove up to the reserved parking space beside it and one or more persons got out and tossed in another contribution. This morning the crib was almost overflowing. The metal was scheduled to be hauled away today to begin its trip to the smelters.
