Milan Man Dies In
St. Joseph's Hospital
MILAN - Chester M. Gooding, 64, died last night at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, after a lingering illness.
In recent years Mr. Gooding had been employed by the Tecumseh Products Co. of Tecumseh and the Argus Inc. of Ann Arbor. He had previously worked at the local American Boiler and Foundry Co. for 11 years.
Mr. Gooding was born April 23, 1886, in Macon township, Lenawee county, a son of Mortimer and Clara Gooding. He was married Feb. 12, 1908, to the former Mary E. Harbison, who survives him.
Other survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Ellen C. Wanty; one granddaughter, Virginia Lee, both of Milan; and two sisters, Mrs. Leon Temple and Mrs. Nellie D. Kehoe, both of Toledo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Stevens and Bush Funeral Home, with Rev. William A. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Marble Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence, 307 County St., until 10 o'clock Friday morning.
