American Broach Worker Succumbs At Age 54 Harlan C. Roos, 54, employe of the American Broach & Machine Co. and an Ann Arbor resident since 1908, died this noon at his home, 301 Hiscock St., after a three-year illness. Born in New Bavaria, O., on July 31, 1896, a son of Charles and Anna Spieth Roos, he came to Ann Arbor in 1908 with his parents. He had been employed as a mechanic with the Ann Arbor Buick Garage from 1929 unti 1942, and had worked at the American Broach since. He served with the motor transport corps during World War I. Mr. Roos was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Hamburg Lodge of the Oddfellows. On Nov. 8, 1919, he married Miss Hazel M. Hulbert of Ann Arbor. She survives. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Robert C. and Harlan C., jr., both of Ann Arbor; one daughter, Shirley, at home; two grandchildren; one brother, Raymond G. of Ann Arbor; and three sisters, Mrs. William Klein, Mrs. Julius Schmid, both of Ann Arbor, and Mrs. Karl Lehman of Brighton. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Muehlig Chapel, with Rev. Howard F. Yeager officiating. Burial will be made in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
