Corn Meal-JVsw Pian.- The low rate at which Indian Corn has been sold in the westren states, has indnced the farmers to try the experiment ol converting into meal (kiln driedj for the eastern market. Considerable quantities of this meal will be finding lts way through our canals eastwcrd- and probably find ready sales for shipping to the West Indies, kc. Corn meal migbt be used far more generally than it now is; the families who have t rightly cooked in the various modes, esteem it one of the luxunes of living. Rochester paper. The Comptroller has given notice in the Albany city papers, that the outstanding notes of the Farmers' Bank of Orleans, will be redeemerl, at par, at the counter of the Albany City Bank. J Rev. Frederck A. Ross has probably jaised more silk than any other person in the country. During the last year he sold L00 Ibs of reeied silk in Burlington, N. J. for $1500. A silk Filature has recently been established in Philadelphia. Jeiv Orleans, May 31. - The State Bank of Louisiana. and the Citizens Bank, New Orleans, have again suspended specie payments. The Secrelary of the Treasury has designa.ted the Bank of America as a depository of the revenue, in the city of New York. The State of Illinois forfeits its charter by non-resumption in June. It will then have five yeara to wind up according to law. The Auburn and Rocheeter Railroad have declared a dividend of 5 per cent, semi-anual, payable at the Bank of fhe State of New York Juiy lbt.
