The Horse Power is a late invention by S. VV. Foster, and is decidedly superior lo any other ever ollered to tbc public, as wilt appear by the statements of those who have used tberu during the lust year. It is light in weight and stnall in compass, being carried together with the Thresher, in a common wuggon box. nnd drawn with ease by two horses. It isas httle liable to break, or get out of repair, as any other Horse Power, and wil] work as easy nnd thrash os much with four horses a tlached to it as any other power with Jipe horses, as will nppear froin the recommendntions below. New patterns have been made for the cast Iron. and additional weight and strength applied wherever it had appeared to be necessary froin one year's use of the machine. The subscribers deern it proper to state, that a number of horse powers were sold last year in the village of Ann Arbor which were bdievcd by purchasers to be those invented by S. W. Foster, and that most or all of them were either made matcrially different, or altered beibre sold, so as to be materially different from those made and sold by tbc subscribers. Sucli alterations being decidedly detnmenta' to the inility of the machine. They have good reason to believe that every one of those returned by the purchasers as unsatisfactory were of this class. They are not aware that any Power that went from their shop, and was put in use, as they made it, has been condemned or laid asideas a bad machine. All who wish t buy are invited to examine them nnd to enquire of those who have used them. - There will be one lor examination at N. II. Wing's, Dcitcr villagc; and one at Martin Willson's storcJiouse in Detroit - both these gentlemen being asents for the sale of thom. The price will be $120 for a four horse power, with a threshing machine, with a stave or wooden bar cylinder; and $130 fura liorsc power with n threshing machine wiih an iron nr cylinder. The attention of the reader is invited to tnefollowing recommendations. S. W. FOSTEIt & CO. Scio. April 20. 1842. RECOMMENDA TIONS. Tliis is to certify that wa have used one of S W.
