Michigan Grapplers Beat Dearborn A.C. Winning Six Bouts
Michigan’s wrestling team which opened its season with a 22-6 decision over the Dearborn A.C. here Saturday night, heads into the Big Ten competition this Saturday by meeting Northwestern here.
In beating Dearborn the Wolverine grapplers won six out of eight bouts. Fred Klemach at 121 pounds and John Wilson, heavyweight, were the only Wolverines to drop decisions, Raye Deane, sophomore, scored a fall in his debut, pinning Carl Lindenbalm in the 136-pound division.
Johnny Paup, Ann Arbor lad decisioned George Kish at 145. Kiemach lost to Leo Goldberg, former National Y.M.C.A. champion.
Capt. Bill Combs of the Wolverines decisioned Dan Smuck at 155 pounds while Art Paddy gained a close nod over Pete Benio.
Wrestling at 175 pounds, Emil Lockwood of Michigan defeated Hugh Sprague while Jim Galles, usual 175-pounder, won a heavyweight bout from George Williams.
