Dies At Nephew's Home In Village
WILLOW VILLAGE - Oliver James Murray, 61, an uncle of Kenneth Murray of 1454 Metcalf Ct., died here yesterday after a long illness.
He was born June 5. 1894, at Swanzy, Mich., a son of Frank and Julia Hawkins Murray. Mr. Murray, who was a hotel chef for most of his life, lived in Escanaba until moving to his nephew's home about eight years ago.
Besides Mr. Murray, survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Florence Leonard of Shelton, Wash., and Mrs. Frank Boyle of Escanaba; a brother, Michael of Gladston, Mich,; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Alexis Catholic Church here, with the Rev. Raymond Jones officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at Ypsilanti. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Geer Funeral Home in Ypsilanti. Friends may call at the funeral home starting today.
