D. 1842, for the purpose of making nominations of candidatos to be supported by the Liberty party ot the en su ing election. ön ihotion, John Howard, Ësq. was chosen chairman, and William Woodruff, Ësq. 6ecretary The object of the coiiventioti having beeri stated, delegates appeared o cali from FJovverfield, Park, Lockport, Nottawa Shermnn, Bur-Oak, Florence, Leónidas, The following resolutions wëré introduCed, discussed and unaiiimoüsly adopted. Resolved, That as our Declaratiori of índependence and constitution of the U. Stated (which are political institutions) professedly incúlcate the greát principies öf huinan liberty - we as ciüzcns, are bouwt to defend and support thetn by our moral influence, and by that legitímate politicaí wdaponj the ballot boiti Resolved, That tha principies of the Ljb- efty party, are the truc exponent of the con stitution, and that we are therefore, untïer obligation to support that party as the only sure means of perpetuating our Republic, and Carryitig out constitüÜoñally, our profcssions bö fore the world.
