George W. Mitchell, 75, of 327 S. Division St., died suddenly of a heart ailment early this morning at his home.
Mr. Mitchell was born Jan. 4, 1881, in Delaware, O. He married the former Cathryn Stewart on June 26, 1920, in Clearwater, Fla.
He was sent to Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1926 by the Automatic Electric Co. of Chicago to work with the Brazilian Telephone Co. on telephone installations.
He came to Ann Arbor in 1947 to make his home. He was retired here.
Mr. Mitchell was an American Legion member in Ann Arbor. He was a Mason in Portland, Ore., and a Shriner in Tampa, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. John H. Sloss of Bellaire, O., and three grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Staffan-Hildinger Funeral Home. The Rev. W. R. Schutze will officiate. Cremation will follow. The family has asked that flowers be omitted. Friends may call at the funeral home.
