Omnitext Announces Restructuring

The board of directors of Omnitext, Inc., a local manufacturer of video display terminals, has announced a restructuring of the company.

Arnold Ott, chairman and chief executive officer, was also named president.

In addition the following promotions were made:

Marvin Preston, IV, vice president systems development and engineering.

Ronald Bell, vice president sales.

Kenneth Burkhalter, vice president advanced product development.

Bernard Appelblatt, director of production, procurement and maintenance.

Omnitext is completing the factory testing portion of a development contract with the Newspaper Systems Development Group for a new terminal to be used by its member daily newspapers. This terminal is an important step in developing an advanced electronic newsroom, Ott said.

The company is completing the production of terminals for Singer Corp. and is launching its own direct sales of the present terminal as well as the new newspaper units: Bookings for the first quarter shipments are showing promise, Ott said.
