Unions Feel Strike - The building trades were among the first to feel the effects of their own strike. The building in the photo will someday be the union hall for various building trade unions. Work has stopped on it. Members of Trowel Trades Local 14 are needed to lay bricks, but they are on strike. The general contractor for the project is a member of the group seeking a new contract with the various trade unions whose contracts expired May 1. The building is located a quarter mile east of Carpenter Rd. on Michigan Avenue.
