Miss Leona Gertrude Markham, who lived in Ann Arbor until moving to Detroit 12 years ago, died Saturday at her home at 9545 Prairie Ave., Detroit.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 tomorrow afternoon at the C. J. Becker funeral home at 11853 Hamilton, Detroit, and burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery here.
Miss Markham was born in Ann Arbor 73 years ago, and taught in public schools for many years. She was a member of the Sterling Tent of the Daughters of Union Veterans in Detroit and recently was president of the Past Presidents Club of the organization. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Ann Arbor.
She is survived by three sisters, Miss Franc Markham of Detroit, Mrs. William Savage of Ann Arbor and Mrs. Elmer Neville of La Jolle, Calif.; and two brothers, Lewis of Detroit, and Elmer of Ann Arbor.
