Thresh ing Jila chin es . TI 1 1 undersigned would inform iho public that tlícy continue [o manufacture Horsk Pownsnnd 1 iiRisiiisfi Machines, two anda half mil es from the villnge of Anti Albur, on the railrond. Tbc llorsc Power isa late invention by S. W. Fosier, mid is decidedly supprior to any other ever oftered to the public, as will appear by the statements oí those who have uscd them diiring the last year. It is liglit in weight and stnall in corapass, being carried togeiher with thc Threshev, in a comnion waggon box. and dniwn witb ease by two horses. It isas hule Hable to break, or ct out ot repair, as any other Horse Power, and will work as casy and thrash as much with fóxtr horses a ttached tó it as any other power with l'v: horses, as will appear from the recommendalions below. New patterns have been made for ',he c-íst I ron. and additional weight and strength applied wherever it had appeared to be uecessary írom ore year's use of the machine. The subscribers deern it proper to state, that a numbcr of horsc powers were so!d last year in the village of Ann Arbor wbich were believed by the pdfch'a'sérö to be those invented by S. W. Foster. and thntmost or all ófthetn were either made matevbÜy different, or ahered bcl'ore sold. so as to be materially different from those made mÖ sold by the suhscribers. Sucli alterations being decidedly detrimento' totheuiiliiy ofihe machine. They have g.ood reason to belicve that every one ot' those returned by the purchasers as unsatisfactory were of this class. They are not awnre that any Power that went from their shop, and was put in use, as they made it. has been condemned or laid asideaa a bad machine. All who wish i.íbuy areinvitcd to examine them and to enquire of those who have used them - Therewillbe onci'or examination at N. H.Wing's, Dcrier villa-ge; and one at Martín Wii.i.son's i storehonse i-i -Di.troit - both these gentlemen being asents for thc sale of them. The pricc will be $120 for a four horsc powcr, with a threshing machine, with a síavc or wooden barcylindcr; and $130 for a horsc powcr with a threshing machine with an iron bar cylinder. Thc attention öfthereader is invited to tliefollowing recotnmendations. S. VV. FOSTEIt &CO. Scio. April 20. 1842. RECOM1H END ATIONS. - This is to certify that v:o have u=cd one of S W. Foster's newly invented Iíorse Powers for nbinit five months, and threshed with it about 3)00 bushels, and belicve it is constructed on beller principies lUnn :ny other Horse Power. - One of the undersigned has cwned and usedeifitht different kinds of 11 oí se Powors, and we believe ihal four horses will thrash as much wiih this Power as jirc will with any other powcr with which we areacquainted. , II. CASE. S. G. IVÉS. Scio, Jamiary. 12, 1S42. Tuis is to inform the public that I have purchased, and have now in use. one ol tho llorsc Powers rcccntly invented by S VV. Foster, mude by S. VV. This i? to inform tl-e pnblic that 1 have purchrised oneof the Horse Puwcrs, recently invented by S. VV. Foster. and usid-fifor a nuniber of months. and believe it is the best power in use. workinc with less strength of horses than any oihcr power with which I ani acqunintcd, and being small in compass. is easily moved feom one place to another. 1 believe 4 horses will thresli as much with tliis power as 5 wil] with any oiher power. The plan and thc working of this powcr have been universally approvod ofby íurmcrsfor whom I have thrashed. E. S. SMITH. Scio. April 11. 1842.
