Ye friendsof inoderotiün. who think a reformación, Or moral renovation, would benefit our iiatmn; Who deem intoxication, wiih all its dissipalion. ïn every rank and station, the cause of degradation, m Of which our observotion givcsdaily demonstration; Who sce thc ruination, distrrssand desolation, - The open violation of moral obligation, - The wretched habitation without accommodation, Or any regulation. for common sustenation, A scene ofdeprivation, unequalled increaiion: - The frequent desecration of Sabbath ordination- The crime and decradation, defying legislation - Tlc awful profanation of common ronversation - The mental aberration. and diré iníatuation, With every sad grachtion to maninc desperation Ye who, with cor.st.ernation, behold tliisdevastation, And utter condemnalion on all nebriation; Why sanction its duration? or show disapprobationOfnny combinnlïbn for tsexlermination? We deeni a declaration, tliat uficrs no teniptation. Hy any palliation of this afeomination, Tlic only sure foundation, for its utter e.xtirpation. And under this persuasión, hold no communication, With noxious emanntion of brcwcr's fertncntation; Or poisonous preparation of spirit dietillation; Nor any vain libation, producing stimulation. To this dctermination, we cali consideration, And without hcsitation invite co-operation, . Not doubiing imitation wijl raiseyourestimation; And by continuation aflbrd you consolation; For in particpntion with this assócintion, You may, by meditnticn. insure the preservntionOf a future gencrntion from all contnminaiion. And may cach indication of suih regencrntion, Öe the thome of exultation, uil ils final consammation.
