Farminston, April I8th, 1343. Rkspkcted EniTORs: - Our spring election has passed with a clear gain of the -Liberiy vote over last year of ÏO. We had about 4G a yearago, and now 5G, and a few candidates run nbove the last ïiumber. The Liberty par-, ly met fir't and look up none but truc men. The Democrats followed, and feeliiig pretty slrong (for the wh'ig ranks had been material - ly reduced by many coming over from them lo the side of right and of libsrty,) took the nominecs mit of their own rank?, and elected all but a constable and treasurer which were from th 3 whigs. Tlien tollüwcd the whig cniicp, nid iïcre we hid a fair specimen of how imich they hate s'avery. They preferred to unite with nny thiug and overy thing but Mie Liberty Party, and they made out a part of their nomination from a party they have waged Mvar against for more than fifteen yoars, and have lost vcry many votes in theattempt to overthrow them. But one wotild t-uppose tfie whigs had a suffi■cient lesson ín the attempt they made last fall in rimning the TariiT ticket in this cotinty, which proved a total failure.
