we vvere tnucli interested the olher day, by an anccdote of school discipline. It was part of the experience of a young gradante of a Normnl school. Her lines had not fallen in pleasant places, and she discovered that the school was rapidly setting the better of her. Every day ne sy;uptoms of disbbedience oc curred; every day the power of her look and j voice seemed on the verge of utter overthrow. At last, one morning when sbe had enlered ihe school sick at hearl, and had found some of lhe older pupils reward hei attention with indifTerence, and her patience with scorn, she feit prostrated; and when the recesg of the school permitted it, she burst into tears. One of the young offenders noticed this emotion, and feit at once how cruel had been the sport she liad boen haring with her teacher. She went to the rest, and opened to them her bleeding heart, until theirs shnred the same feeling. And, when the school was resumed, a number of the most disorderly girls begged her forgi venes?, and one of thpin, in a brief nnd touching prayer completed the vvork of penitence by seeking the forgivenesg and aid of God. From that lime the school went on like clock w'ork. Eacli vied with the other in fidelity, orderliness and proficiency.
