Thia Convenlion, held at Utica, was full of interest. Wc condense from the Liberty Press, and private sources, a sumniary of its resulls. There were nbout 175 delegates present, from ten States, besides other friends and well wishers) who waited to see the nature of the movement before joining m it. About 100 preacherfs Were present. The leading spirits were Scotl, Smith of Piltsburgh, and Horton. ít voos full of strong intellect, and instinct with brotherly love. It appeared that about J50 preachers, and 3,000 to 8,000 members had alrea'ly receded from the Episcopal Methodist Church; and a very large nuraberof others had s'gnified their readiness to do so.The Convention was in session nine days. They completed the orgmization and discipline of their religieus body, with great unanimily, though iheir discussions were ofton very warm . Tho nevv Convention adopt the doctrines and general Jlu'es of the old Church, with few modifications. They ntlerly repudíate all connection with elavery; take tetotil temperance ground, and nre docided in their friendliness to Moral Reform, ns well as toother modes of Christian benevolent action. The ofijcers of each church are to be choen by the church. No minister is to be forced upun tlie chnrch, contra ry to their wishes. - Buc one grade of ministers is retainetl, called Elders, who are to be divided into three classes. The itinerante, the unstationed, and the Euperannualed, which embraces Ihe agod and sick. who are unnble to preach.A'l ministers, engaged in preacbing, are to be members of the Annual Cunfet enees. The local preachersjand preaching Deacon's offices, are abolished. No "Bis'iops," in the Episcopal seDse, are provided. The President (S each Annual Conference discharges duties very m'ich like those ot" a Presiding Eider i the old body. The Conferences are composed of the preachers, and an rqual number of lny delpgaies ft om the chinches. In a!l divjded votes, the lay delegates may vote eeparately, and a mnj rity of both bodies is reqnsite to the passage of any law. Preachera are ordained, or disc'plined, at the Conference, or, in the intervals, by its Pr?6ident, assisted by a Council of Elders. On the subject of Baptism, wliüe Pedobaptist vievs were adopied as the rule, ít was agreed that no man's standing should be questioned for dissenting from them. The subject of Secrei Sucieties was referred to the Conferences and Churches. Arrangements were made for a present cooperation, and further umon with the Reformed and other seceding Methodist bodie. We are happy to learn that Father Shiw, of Vermont, so well known to our readers, united with the body, und i? to be staüoned at Preble, in this State, where a worthy brother
