The following from the Albuny Patriot is quite as appücable to the Whigs and Liberty men of Michigan as to tliose of New York. The existence nnd perpetuity of the Liberty Party is "a fixeJ fact," and the Whigs may make thoir calculations accordingly firstas well as las:: The Western Statk Journal, whosepclitical flag is emblazoned with the name ol Ilenry Clay for President; tliinks Liberty men "might rice to some importance in the State in an aciive participntion in public measurep," CX ƒ they would vote for candidates fur either party that adopted antidavery views. We teil" the Journal once for all, the Liberty party is eslablished in the country; it is the only party in the country that is increasing its numbers, and as we be lieve, the only party that can save the country. It cannot, it will not g-o back; it wil not deviate from the present policy. If whigs, wouJd succceed they mast come to us thal ip, if they wish to riso tö importance in tlie State in nctive panicipatjon in public raeasures' Whv wil! they "throw away their votes," as they sureJy will if they are headed by Henry Clay, or any other pro-sJavery leader. The Journal admits that ten or fifteen Lhousand votes 'vill control the politics of the State, nnd that .he Liberty party will do so if they have them. We know this very well; and ns to hnving the above number of votes, the signs of the times every day indícate that we may safely calcúlate on at least that numjer, and perhaps more."
