Wellness Networks is composed of men and women dedicated to the promotion of physical, mental and emotional health. Our clients are men and women from all walks of life who are HIV positivo. Among the services we offer are support groups and buddies, public speaking and an information hotline. We are the only organizaron in the state to have an active príson program for inmates interested in our services. The number of patients diagnosed with AIDS in Washtenaw County is more than forty and the numbers will not get smaller. New reports are coming in all the time about new populations being hit in large numbers. Our objective at Wellness is to make an impact on every community, in particular those who acquire HIV from sharing an infected needie. Teenagers and the general public as well are still practicing unsafe sex and still hartxring unwarranted fears of how this disease is contracted. We have a lot of work to do. Now is the time to become a memoer of Wellness Networks. We will be having a training this December for any interested people. Mental Health professionals are especially encouraged to join. We needyour expert se The training will begin with a two-hour orienta tion on Dec. 2 and then two days of education and workshops the following week, Dec. 9 and 10. If you (hink you can be a buddy , visit a patiënt in the hospital, answer our hotline or just stuff envelopes, cali us at 572-WELL and sign up. We're going to need a lot of people to organizo a benefit bash for next summer, and we really need some folks with good organizational skills for office work and coordinating a food bank for those who can no longer feed themselves. Our board meets the second Friday of every month in our office on Clark Rd. from 7-9 pm. All board meetings are open to the public. The next one will be Nov. 10th. Be there!
