Tennessee. The Whigs have elected tbeir Governor by 4000 majority. The Whig raajority in 1840 was II, .772. The Whigs have a small mnjority in both branches of the Legislature. The Demócrata have elected six members of Congress, the Whigs five. Kentucky. The Democrats have elected five out of the ten' members of Congress. - The proportion was fonnerly one Democrat to twelve Whigs. Illinois. The Democrats have elected all the Congressmen but one. Indiana. The Democrats have elected their Governor, and eight out of ten members of Congress. They have a majority in both liouses of the Legislatura. The Whig maority in 1340 was 13,698. JYorlh Carolina. The Whigs have elected four raembers of Congress, the Domocrats five. Aldbama. The Democrats have elected five members of Congress, the Whigs one.
