WJ.MÜ#.V-J.M J.NTW M The Michigan Campaign for Human Dignity, a statewide coalition o( groups, is organizing to prevent the passage of an amendment which would in effect legalize discrimination based on sexual oríentation. The Michigan Family Values Committee - the group promoting the amendment - would like to see Michigan's constitution amended in the same way that Colorados has been. The MFVC's ballot petition reads: 'Neither the State ol Michigan, through any of its branches or departments, nor any of its agencies, political subdivisions, municipalities or school districts, shall enact, adopt or enforce any statute, regulation, ordinance or policy whereby homosexual, lesbian, or bisexual orientation, conduct, practices or relationships shall constitute or othe rwise be the basis of or entitle any person or class of persons to a claim of discrimination." Gay Liberation Front's Purpose is to provide Information, counseling, and related social services for people concerned about sexual orientation. We maintain a hotline for crisis intervention, peer counseling and referral. We help provide (actual information to offset prejudice and misinformation about Lesbians, Gay men, and Bisexual people. We work to obtain human and civil rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation. We help organize groups for Lesbians, Gay men, and Bisexual people and are a link to other community groups. Community Services include: a Hotline for crisis intervention, peer counseling, referral. Education: workshops and conferences on concerns of Lesbians, Gay men, and Bisexual people with an emphasis on howpeople in the "helping protessions" and "teaching protessions" can workpositively with clients, patients, & students who are Lesbians, Gay men, and Bisexual people. Speakers Bureau: phone lor information. Human & Civil Rights: information and referral to help people who are being discriminated against because of their actual or presumed sexual orientation or because of their presumed "cross-gender" characteristics; lobbying for human and civil rights Community Organization and Liaison: information and assistance in organizing groups, setting goals, addressing conflict, linking with other groups and resources.
