Shelters

SAFE House Address contidential; crisis line: 995-5444, inlo line: 973-0242. Hours: 9-5, 24-hourcrisis line. Services: Shelter for battered women and children, crisis intervention, counseling, educalion, actlvities for children, and support groups.

Shelter Association of Ann Arbor 420 W. Huron; 662-2829. Hours: 6 pm-7 am, 7 days. Services: Night shelter. Must be at least 1 8 years old. Stay up to 30 days. Rotating shelter for men at various churches.

Ashley Place 112 S. Ashley; 668-7273. Hours: 9-5, 7 days. Services: Temporary shelter, referrals to mental health lacilities, work and benefits help, clothng, free haircuts trom State College of Beauty, and rotating church program for quieter and safer shelter.

Prospect Place Family Shelter 11 N. Prospect, Ypsilanti; 484-4300. Hours: 9:30 am-5 pm. Services: Apartments available 30-90 days. Housing for single parents and children. Furniture and eviction money, betterment classes, women's classes, housing and ADC help.

Interfaith Hospitality Network of Washtenaw County P.O. Box 7538; 668-8823. Hours: 24 hrs. Services: Shelter, meals, donations, case management, transportation to school and shelters, and child psychologist available. Mostly referrals from Prospect Place, SOS. or United Way.

Arbor Haven Address contidential; 761-7750. Hours: 24 hrs, 7 days. Services: 90 day homeless shelter. Includes free meals. Must attend specified meetings and do chores. Call for interview.

Food Distribution

Catholic Social Services 117 N. Division; 662-4534. Hours: Mon-Thu 8:30 am-9 pm, Fri 8:30 am-5 pm. Services: Emergency food, counseling, programs in adoption, domestic violence, and substance abuse assistance.

Second Baptist Church 850 Red Oak; 663-9369. Hours (days): 24 hr. emergency food, regular deliveries on Fridays. Services: Provide groceries to low-income families in NW Ann Arbor.

Manuel Lutheran Church 201 N. River, Ypsilanti; 482-7121 Hours: Tue 5-6 pm. Services: Free meals.

Christian Love Fellowship 623 Oak St., Ypsilanti; 483-7967. Hours: Mon3-4 pm. Services: Free food once a month, with picture Identification. St. Andrews Episcopal Breakfast Program 306 N. Division; 663-0518. Hours: 7:30-8:30 am, 7 days. Services: Free breakfast.

Ann Arbor Hunger Coalition 1731 Dhu Varren; 662-4060. Hours: 5:30 pm, M-F. Services: Free meals. Call for message. Locations may change. Motor Meals of Ann Arbor 1000 Wall St.; 763-2377. Hours: office, M-F 8 am- 4 pm, deliveries: noon-1 pm. Services: Meals provided to help individuals maintain independence within their own homes. Daily contact to homebound individuals. Lunch and dinner provided.

Domestic Violence

Substance Abuse

Dawn Farm 544 N. Division & 6633 Stony Creek, Ypsilanli; 769-7360, 485-8725. Hours: Mon 3-5 pm, Wed 2-4 pm. Services: Long-term residential treatment facility for chemically dependent, ages 18-35. Call to get on waiting list.

Washtenaw County Council on Alcoholism 2301 Platt; 971-7900; Hours: M-F 9-4. Services: Individual and group counseling for alcoholics and their families and friends.

Alcoholics Anonymous 33 Cross St., Ypsilanti; 482-5700. Services: Answering service. Information on meetings, crisis lines.

C.L.E.A.R. House 704 Spring St.; 663-2500; Hours: Mon-Thu 8:30-8:30, Fri 8:30-5, Sat 8:30-noon. Services: Outpatient program for chemically dependent, ages 18 and older. Insurance accepted. Sliding scale tees.

Ozone House 608 N. Main; 662-2222; Hours: 9am-11 pm. Services: Counseling for young people, support groups, community education, training, housing for homeless and runaways, foster care and independent living guidance.

Housing Bureau for Seniors 300 N. Ingalls; 763-0970. Hours: M-F 9-5. Services: Counseling, information and public workshops to help older adults stay in their homes and/or find others to live with. Call for interview.

Services: Information and referral, assistance with taxes, credit tor prescription drugs and home heating, education programs, individual assistance, answers to questions on Medicare, Medicaid, and supptemental health insurance.
