We mentioned that at the late election in Maine, onlv about one half the voters went to the polls That this 1 istlcssness has seized on our Michigan Whigsand Democrafs, is evident from the loudness of their calis to their partizans to wake up. ThePontiac Jacksonian coneurs with üs remnrkably as follows: vd & OnGANiz.ATiox-AcTiox.-Never have we known a time when the democracv of the north exhibited so linie spirit or in terest in regard to political affars, orseem ed, if we may so speak, so apparently t gardless of the result of a great an im. portont election near at hand, as now - How is this? Have the democracv So soon forgotten the evils - crying evils which resulted from wbig misrule in 1840 and 1841'? Orare they so confident of their strength as to deem it unnecessarv to do any thing? We warn them, asflley valué thejr principies and hope for their ascendency in the councils of the State to "lay not that flatteringunetion to their souls!" We might easily gather a score or two of similar articles from the papers of this State. It is possible, however, that the votei-s will bè awaked by these urgönt calis, and turn out to thé polls.
