Mrs. Martha M. Nagel, 69, widow of Christian Nagel, of 605 W. Washington St., died yesterday afternoon at St. Joseph's Mercy hospital, following a brief illness.
She was born on Nov. 14, 1874, in Lodi township, the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Volz Jedele. She had lived in Ann Arbor for 22 years, coming here from Lodi township. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Mr. Nagel died in July, 1920.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Walter Schmidt and Mrs. Lydia Haynes of Ann Arbor, Mrs. Neil Johnson of Ypsilanti, Mrs. Louis Garnow of Dearborn and Miss Esther Nagel of Cleveland, and two sons, Jacob of Scio township, and Fred of Ann Arbor. There are 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving her are three sisters, Mrs. Otto Ugele of Osceola, Ind., and Mrs. Albert Horning and Mrs. Edwin Nagel of Ann Arbor, and two brothers, Robert Jedele of Saline and Albert of Ann Arbor.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Muehlig chapel, with Rev. C. A. Brauer officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
