YPSILANTI - Cpl. Paul F. Townsley, 23 years old, 505 Holmes Rd., this city, was killed at 2:30 Sunday morning in a traffic accident near Baltimore, Md., according to information received by relatives here. No details regarding the accident were contained in the telegram.
Cpl. Townsley was born Sept. 12, 1920, at Vincennes, Ind., a son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Townsley, was educated there, and in 1937 came to Ypsilanti to make his home with his brother, Ellis E. Townsley at the Holmes Rd. address. In 1937 he enlisted in the Army, and four weeks ago was home on a 10-day furlough. He was attached to the 702nd M. P. Battalion.
Surviving are his father, Ypsilanti; and three brothers, Ellis E., Ypsilanti; Joseph R., Vincennes, Ind.; and Tech. Sgt. Raymond G., of the U. S. Marines; and two sisters, Mrs. Samuel Coleman and Mrs. Daniel Yuhas, both of Ypsilanti.
No funeral arrangements can be made until further word is received from the military authorities as to when the body will arrive here. Services will be at the Geer funeral home here, and burial will be in Highland cemetery, with full military honors.
