CHELSEA - Funeral services for Dr. Chandler C. Lane, longtime Chelsea veterinarian who was killed in a traffic crash south of here yesterday afternoon, will be held at the Miller funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. W. H. Skentelbury will officiate and burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
Dr. Lane, a native of Lyndon township where he was born June 5, 1880, was a graduate of the Grand Rapids Veterinarian's School with the class of 1901 and had practiced in Chelsea and vicinity since that time.
He was a member of the Congregational church.
Dr. Lane is survived by his wife, the former Caroline Schuiz, Erie, Pa., whom he married on July 9, 1917; two sons, Pfc. Wilfred Lane, stationed in England with an Army signal corps unit, and Charles Lane, Chelsea, and two sisters, Mrs. Earl Elliott, Detroit, and Mrs. George Richmond, Jackson. A brother, Dr. Theodore Lane, well-known Ann Arbor veterinarian, died in Ann Arbor about a year ago.
