Proposed Housing Commission Members
These are the five men proposed by Mayor Wendell E. Hulcher as the city’s first Housing Commission members. The appointments must be confirmed by the City Council before the men take office. The council is expected to act at its Nov. 22 meeting. Henry V. Aquinto (left) was recommended as chairman of the commission, which will be charged with solving Ann Arbor’s low-income housing problems. Aquinto. 2129 Brockman, is former mayor pro tem and works at the Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn. The others recommended by Hulcher are (left to right): William J. Conlin, 1038 attorney, who resides at 1230 Fair Oaks Parkway: Joseph W. Edwards, 1038 Baldwin, president of Edwards Brothers, Inc., and a member of the City Planning Commission; Robert Powell, 1825 Hill, a physicist at the University, and Lyndon Welch, 2220 Glendaloch, president of a Detroit architectural firm.
