Age 90, died December 5, 1993 in Boca Raton, FL after a brief illness. He was born May 31, 1903 in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Charles and Mathelda (Hagen) Hutzel. He was married to Catherine (Cake) in November of 1933 and she preceded him in death on February 10, 1988. He married Mary L. Graf on June 26, 1988. He was active in Kiwanis, Zion Lutheran Church, Ann Arbor Club, Barton Hills Country Club, and the City, County and National Republican Party. He was Chairman of the NBD Bank for 19 years, was a member of the Crystal Downs Country Club and was the owner of Hutzel Clothing Store. Surviving are his wife, Mary L. Hutzel; a daughter, Mary Lou Howie; grandchildren, Timothy Hutzel Howie, Randall Scott Howie, Elizabeth Jane Howie; a stepson, William W. Graf; sister, Virginia McNeal; cousin, Mrs. V. O. Ratliff; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, December 10, 1993 at the MUEHLIG CHAPEL with the Rev. Charles Akre officiating. Burial will be made at Washtenong Memorial Park. Friends may call at the chapel from 7-9 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Ann Arbor Kiwanis Club, Zion Lutheran Church or to the charity of one's choice.
