This paper has entered upon its second Yolume, and comes to us this week considerably enlarged and otherwise much improved. lts mechanical appearance is first rate. It is the organ of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in the United States, ■and fearlessly advocates all the benevolent enterprises of the age. The Rev. O. Scott is Editor and proprietor, Assisted by Rev. J. Horton and Luther Lee. A personal acquaintance with this editorial fraternity induces the belief that the True Wesleyan will be second no paper in the East, in point of talent and sterling worth. Itis published in Boston, Mass., at $2 per annum in advance. It should have an extensive circulation.The Democratie State Convention, which assemblee! in this village3 Jan. 8, nomiflated five delegates to the National Convention at Baltimore, viz: R. S. Wilson, A. Ten Eyck, J. E. Johnson, S. G. Watson, and E. Bradley. They were instrucled to vote for Martin Van Buren. Five Electors were also nominated, viz: L. Beaufait, P. J. Spaulding, C. P. Bush, S. Axford, P. Redfield. They are all lawyers. The Legislature have done nothing of any moment. They have a large amount of business spread out before them, but have not finished any thing. Thcre has been much manoeuvering about the adultery law. Some act to retrieve the honor of the State will undoubtedly be passed. KT-The Richmond (Va.) Whig says of Mr. Clay. "No man knows botter than the editor of the Enquirer, that the views of Mr. Clay on the subject of abolition, are as SOUND AS IT IS POSSIBLE FOR ANY MAN's TO BE." {LyMr. Buchanan has withdrawn from the Presidential contest. It is said Col. Johnson is about withdrawing, and will bestow his influence for Mr. Van Buren. Ann Arbor, Jan. 19, 1344. We have cold frosty weather, but no sleighing. Wheat buyers pay 62 cents with small variations. Flour $3,25. - Pork comes in more abundantly, and finds ready sale at 3 to 3 cents.
