At Nankin. Wayne co. Mich. on the 5th inst., Mrs. Elizabeth Wagoxer. in the 36th year of hor age. She was remarkable for deep toned piety, and dcvotion tothe cause of the Redecmcr. She was bom if I mistake not, either in Massachusett or New York, and deprived of her Father, Mr. Moses Pomroy, when only 4 years old,and of her Mother 4 yeais after, hereby left an orphan at the tender age of 8 years old, but in God she found a fatlier to the fatherless. At the o "-e of 17, she experienced thepardonino-lovc of God, and soon after united with the Church of Christ, of which she continued a faithful membei-, until the time of her lamented death. In.Feb. 1827, she wns united in marriage io Wm. S. D. Waz;oner, with whom she emigrated to Ihis country in 1832. On the evening of her death, she went to bed as well as u?urJ.and expired bctween 12 and 1 o'clock. - For this sudden removal,there is no doubt but that she was wel] prepared. She was a most exemplary chrisíian, a great friend to the poor and oppressed. and forward in every good word and work. For some time previous to her death. the thought of that eterna] blessedness which awaiis the people of God, seemed to occupy her raind continually. A day or two before she died, she remarked to a friend, that she feit the Lord very precious, so prècious, thaí she liad no fear of death. but feit prepared to depart at any time the Lord thought fit to cali for lier. The day before she died, she appeared exceedingly happy and cheerful. She was laken so suddcnly, thrshe had no time to apprise her husband of her illness. She shut. her eyes io open them 'm Glory. The circumstance of her deafh was improved by the author. in adiscourse from, Prepare to meet thy God, in the presence oí' a largo and deeply aíFecíed congregation. The losS sustained by her neighbors. tlie Church of which she had been 50 worthy a member. and above all, by lier afllicted husband, will not soon bc ïiade up. But we must all bow to the yill of God.
