We have betore reterred to the üon ventioti that is soon to assemble to revis the Constitution. The Democrats pro pose to go into a contest in the electio of delegates for the íbllowing principies which will. be far in advance of thos which now prevail in the government o the State. 'That the right of voting shall be ex tended to every free white male citizen of the United States above the age o twenty-one, who has resided twelve consecutive months in the State, and six in the Pariah where he ofFers to vote. That no qualification but those of a voter should be required of the citizen to enable him to liold office. That no office of any kind whatever should be held for any other than a limit ed term. That all officers should be eleced by the people. That taxation and representation be equal throughcut the State. That the Legislature shall grant no charter of incorporation for any purpose of banking. That no debt shall be contracted by tho State of Louisiana, beyond the usual revenue thereof, and the faith of the State shall never be pledged, unless in case of insurrection or invasión. That the Legislature shall never adopt any body of laws by a general reference to them, but that the particular law adopted shall always be stated. full and at lar ge."
