Oii! thal thy name- Thy glorious name, Vfere known from pole to pole! That man, the apostate, might beconie Againa "Living soul!" RcJeemer! Svior! hftste the day When out rebellionsoer, Our heartf, the nurseriea of vice, Sball cheriah siu no more ! Oh! iay thy eearcbing gospel light [Hume each cavern deep, There, in our spirits' dark reces'. Adders and scorpious sleep! May Thy all purifying blood Remove ench Ieprou9 siain, And make the temple of our hearta Meet place fur thee to reignl Eren now, as in Thine advent dayi k Anoint the blinded eyes, And ope cur Ruler's deafenedeara To hear the bondman's sighs! Oh give them grace io pnrge away The plague spot of our land, Ere yet the threatemng bolt shall leavo Thy guilt averjging hand! And we, whose falhers nobly dared To stem the tide of wrong-, To plead the cause of the oppressed, With utterance meek, but strorjg; WLile from the Southern prison-hoase, Ascends tlie awful cry, Daily, and houriy unto IJeaven.
