Last Monday certain prominent politiians, who consider themselves as cutting considerable swath in the political field, veré seen urging those who had not voted, o th bar, to take somothing to drink! - Vhich of these should be be regardedas )ublic benefactors - they who strive to persuade men tototal abstinence, or those vho try to obtain their votes by placing efere them thedrunkard'sdrink? We are happy to see the Liberty men so prompt in taking the field; and we will venture to suggest to them, that it is very desirable that they should determine definitely wlml they will do at the coming election, and how they will do it. be it much or little, and not leave their cause to prosper or sink by mere chance, without putting forth any volition respecting it. Rational men should act for a definite object by appropriate means, or determine not to act all. We hope efficiënt measures will be adopted. We can assure our friends elsewhere that Washtenaw will not fall behind this year.
