The following resolutions wcre adopted by the Ohio Liberty Convention: 5. That all acts of Congress for the continuance of Slavery in thé Territories of Louisiana and Florida, and in the Disrict of Columbia, after the cessions; were and are nuil and void, not only by reason of the want of power in Congress to )ass such acts, but the fifth article of the amendments of the Constitution, which declares that "no person should be deprived of life, LIBERTY and property without due process of 'Law,' " and also in conflict with the Preamble of the Constitution, which declares the establishment of justice to be one of the chief objects of ts formation. 6. That all constitutional provisionsand aws of the States created within the limts of the Territory of Louisiana, and all acts of Congress admitting such States into the Union, so faf as such provisions, aws, or acts, authorize or sanction slaveïolding, are also nuil and void, because n conflict with the same article of the amendments.
