Age 90, died Dec. 4, 2002 at the Evangelical Home-Saline, her home of 4 1/2 years. She was born on Sept. 30, 1912 and was the daughter of Fredrick and Anna (Kern) Ludwig. Ruth was raised on the family farm on Earhart Road in Northfield Township. Growing up, she attended Leland School, and was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Northfield Township. Aunt Ruth was married to Theodore J. Rumps and he preceded her in death in Jan. 1984. They made their home in Dearborn Hts., MI. Aunt Ruth is survived by many nieces and nephews: Joann (Guy) Nordman, Ann Arbor, William (Carol) Cavanaugh, Northfield Twp., Delores (Richard) Hilts Snyder, Edmonton, Alberta, Nancy Hilts Deane, Sterling, CO, Gloria (Charles) Hilts Vogel, Townsend, MA, Several great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by siblings: Elmer Ludwig, Roland Ludwig, Helen Hilts, Mabel Cavanaugh, infant Lawrence Ludwig, and her first husband, Nelson Cort. Visitation will be held at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL on Tuesday, December 10, 2002, from 1 to 8 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m., Rev. Judy Jahnke officiating. The family would like to acknowledge the care and compassion shown by the staff and volunteers at the home. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Howell and Dr. Diehl.
